Recipe - Tropical Fruit Smoothie

Non-chew foods have been on our minds lately seeing as Duc unfortunately had to do a wisdom tooth extraction for all four teeth on his birthday (this past Monday), so it gave me some time to actually use the Ninja I had purchased more than a year ago. We blended together this delicious tropical fruit smoothie that gives him plenty of energy with plenty of taste. Give it a whirl yourself!

Step 1: Ingredients (yields approximately 3 cups/24 oz)

  • 2 cups frozen fruits (strawberry, papaya, mango, pineapple), half-defrosted*
  • 2 cups pineapple juice
  • 6 oz. strawberry yogurt

*Note: If you use fresh fruit, add 1/2 cup of ice to the ingredients list.

Step 2: Prepping the ingredients
The fruit mix that we used came from Costco and contained strawberries, papaya chunks, mango chunks, and pineapple chunks. I let these defrost about halfway so that I could still get a nice chilly, iciness to the smoothie. I put these in the blender and added in the yogurt

Step 3: Finishing
Pour in the pineapple juice and blend until well-mixed. Blend a little longer to make it easier to swallow if using for wisdom teeth extraction recovery.
